We’re finally getting around to blogging some of our sessions from the end of last year! Woohoo! We’ve been staying pretty busy around here with Valentine’s Day and so we haven’t really kept up with blogging our sessions, but that now means we’ve got a ton of new images we get to share with you.
First up, Miss “C”
Miss "C" stepped into our studio with an amazing energy, tenacity and a super killer wardrobe. Seriously, she knocked it out of the park with her outfits! We had such a great time creating this gift to herself and for her husband. She is so stunning and brought an attitude with her that screamed “I’m ready for anything you throw at me!” :)

They really are great at what they do. I scheduled a boudoir shoot as a surprise for my husband and I wasn't sure what to expect since I've never done anything like this before. They walked me thru every step of the way from selecting my wardrobe to selecting my final prints. They made me feel extremely comfortable and beautiful in my own skin. Miss "C" sent us a funny note about the image above.
“So I used this pic in a meme creator and txt it to my hubs on Christmas Eve while he was still at work, with the saying "my husband’s idea of a Merry Christmas" and he simply replied "yup lol". He had no clue it was a pic of me! I was dying to tell him but held out until I gave him the album later that night. He was so surprised and blown away by my photos. He was truly speechless.”

Where to shop (online) ::: Orange County Boudoir
We’re often asked by our clients for our opinions on where to shop. Clients say things like, "what should I bring?" or "I'm a curvy girl, where can I get stuff for my body shape?" There are, of course, the obvious places like Victoria’s Secret and Frederick’s, but we want to appeal to the less obvious choices. You’ll see, too, that buying lingerie doesn’t have to break the bank. You can spend a lot or you can spend very little and still have amazing outfits and even better … amazing photos of you in those outfits. No need to overthink the wardrobe.
First up is:
There are, seriously, so many options on this site! And they have some amazing sale prices, too. Some of the pictures they use on the site can be a bit much, though, but don’t let that deter you. They offer a ton of options from modest to downright risqué and they have varying sizes. I love going shopping on this site!
An amazing site for curvy women. They have some really beautiful pieces here and their prices fall in line with Victoria’s Secret.
Another amazing site for curvy women. They focus on sizes 12-6x and their prices are very reasonable.
This one is a bit more on the pricey side but man, oh man, do they have some drool worthy, gorgeous pieces. But hey, how often do we really get to splurge on ourselves? ;)
Oh, yes! We can’t even tell you how many times our clients have come in with pieces we’ve drooled over and found out those pieces are from Forever 21. And usually they get them for $20 or less. Sometimes, you just have to think outside the box. Same goes for H&M. They have some cute stuff, too
We love what we see on Asos. So many beautiful options to choose from. Their prices range, too, so some of the pieces are really affordable and some are definitely a bit of a splurge.
There's not a huge selection on this site, but what they do have is super cute. I love their strappy bralettes. Their prices are very affordable, too.
Lots of handmade lingerie, most of them super adorable. They range in their prices though, depending on the seller.
This is a lingerie subscription box but they do have some really pretty pieces here. And they do have a wide range of sizes which is definitely a plus. And they offer BOGO’s pretty often, so another plus. But you’ll have to remember to either cancel your subscription or skip the month so that you’re not charged $39.95, unless you’d like to pick up a new set every month – more power to you!

Believing in yourself ::: Orange County Boudoir Photography
We talk a lot about insecurities, self esteem, and self love here at Eye Kandie. We post memes about it on our social media all the time, but the truth is, Sarah and I struggle constantly with insecurities ourselves. We talk about it with each other a lot, too. And we realize how hypocritical we may come across sometimes; we preach to other women about loving themselves, exactly as they are right now, but here we are complaining about our skin, our hair, our thighs, our laugh lines, etc. Really, we all struggle with something, whether its our bodies, face, hair, lifestyle, education, or WHATEVER, we ALL struggle somewhere.
It's important for us all to remember and be understanding, that ALL women of ALL shapes and sizes have insecurities. Instead of calling these women "crazy" for an insecurity they have, or letting them believe their insecurity is justified, let's instead lift them up. Let's compliment them, let's encourage them, let's stop judging them and let's tell them just how freaking gorgeous they really are! There is no one-size-fits-all standard for beauty!
Let's be kind to each other but let's also be kind to ourselves. Because, ladies, we can change the way we think about ourselves. After all, we are in charge of our own thoughts. We don't have to think whatever falls in our heads, we can instead choose positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts. Let's instead LOVE our bodies for what it does; focus on WHO we are, not WHAT we are.
Miss T's session below really inspired me! She wrote to us about some of the insecurities she was facing before her session.
"I lack confidence, but I think getting pretty-fied and having my pictures taken would help me see how beautiful I really am! I [want] to get out of my comfort zone… boost my confidence…to feel pretty! I'm very SHY, and insecure... [but] I know once I get in the studio with you, I will have a blast!"
"Even though I know both ladies personally, I was still very nervous before my boudoir shoot. From the moment I stepped foot into the studio, they made sure I was comfortable. I give Sarah the reins and let her make me beautiful, and she always makes me look STUNNING. Jeni made sure I was relaxed and that I had fun. These ladies are so great! Viewing my photos was the best! Seeing the amazing shots Jeni took, and seeing myself look the way I did, was beyond wonderful. I never really felt sexy or thought I would look good taking boudoir photos, but I was wrong!"
She was wrong!! All I see is a super confident, strong, stunning, smart, curvaceous, SEXY woman who stepped out of her comfort zone and saw what she actually looks like to others. Boudoir photos are so much more than just hot photos. It's an uplifting of the soul! I encourage you to book your own session - as a gift for a partner, yes, but above all else, a gift for yourself! Her advice for other women looking to have a boudoir session themselves is sweet and simple.

A gift that tops all gifts ::: Orange County Boudoir
Miss A came to us wanting an extra special gift to give to her other half. She needed to schedule her photo session quickly and she needed the photos turned around even quicker. After she gave us a little background info on her reasoning, we KNEW we had to make it happen!
"This will be an extra special gift for my other half! Just a little background info... we're high school sweethearts going on strong for almost 10 years. He joined the military about 3 years ago. He gets to come home for 2 weeks this December and then deploys in January. So we're definitely making the most out of 2 weeks: his birthday, our engagement party, vacation in Hawaii, and a quick wedding in Vegas!
So these photos are going to be a birthday/wedding/deployment gift! I'm really excited and nervous.
I know the timeline is cutting it [extremely] close...I'm lucky to get the day off for the shooting session.
I've been debating for awhile whether or not I should do this shoot... I'm self conscious, the schedule is packed, and I've got a ton to pay for... but I figured WTH? There's so much excitement happening within two weeks, why not make this the cherry on top?! I plan on giving this to him on our wedding night... the night before he leaves back to base."

Obsessed
Obvi I'm addicted to make up and skincare products, so I thought I would share some of my all time faves, tried and true, I would never ever cheat on them with any other product, products. You're welcome ;)
This is great for all skin types! I use it every morning and every night. I've been a fan of walkers natural for over 3 years now. There products are awesome and super affordable.
I Love this foundation! I use this on all of my clients. Its very pigmented so you don't have to use a ton of it, it has excellent coverage and its the only foundation that I can wear daily that won't break me out.
Concealer
This concealer is literally so pigmented, it covers so well. It can be used under the eyes and on any problem areas.
This is my favorite concealer to use under the eyes, it also acts as a highlight. It is formulated with a non creasing technology which makes it perfect for under eye use.
Powders
This powder is EVERYTHING! Its definitely worth the splurge. It is so finely milled, it goes on really smooth. Its better than any other powder that I have tried for controlling oil throughout the day. The trick is to press it onto your face, don't swipe.
Bronzers
So I just saw that this particular bronzer is not being sold anymore, But I am pretty sure they changed the name to deep matte. Its a perfect neutral color that can be used for contouring, or just to add some warmth to the face.
This product gives me life! I would not know what to do with myself if it was ever discontinued. I love using it on the cheeks, swiping it across the forehead and down the nose. Its a beautiful glowy golden bronze.
Highlighter
One of the best highlighters, EVER. It has so many shades to use and it gives a glorious angelic sheen to the face,
Eyeshadows
Mac shadows are great, They are not the only shadow I use, but I do probably use them more than any other brands. My favorite most universal colors are soft brown, satin taupe, swiss chocolate, brown script, saddle, handwritten, woodwinked, amber lights, romp, and brule.
This palette is great. The colors are all very neutral and matte and they apply really nicely.
Eyeliner
This is one of the most underrated eyeliners. Its by far my favorite eyeliner, I use it on almost everyone. Used in the waterline and smudged under the lashes a bit, its gorgeous.
Mascara
I love this mascara, Its one of the only mascaras that does not make smudge marks above or below my eyes. It stays put! I also love benefits, they're real mascara.
Lip Liners
Love love love these lip liners! they are so creamy and have great staying power. I love the colors nude and mauve.
Lipsticks
Nyx matte soft lipcremes are BOMB. They have so many colors to choose from, and they have a pretty long wear, plus they are extremely affordable.
I hope you ladies get to try some of these out, I know you wont be disappointed!
Miss "E" Boudoir ::: Orange County Boudoir
2015 was such a year of growth for us and we are so grateful to you all for that! So many of you pushed through your insecurities and comfort zones this year with us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Miss E was one of those ladies who came to us and trusted enough to create an amazing gift for her hubby. She seriously gets a huge high five for completely rocking her session! She handles herself with such confidence and a charisma that we loved. We're very confident this was the best gift her hubby's EVER received ;)
Valentines Day is almost here!

The Anonymous Miss K ::: Orange County Boudoir
We hope you enjoyed your Christmas break! This busy season was definitely the busiest we've ever had and we loved every second of it, but after quite a few boudoir sessions in a very short amount of time, we certainly needed a few days off to recoup, re-energize, and spend time with our families. Now after having a few days off - we're ready to get back to work and share some gorgeous images with you guys! First up is the mysterious Miss K... she is letting us use her anonymous images- and we couldn't be anymore elated about that! She really pushed past her comfort zone for this and her enthusiasm to try anything was refreshing and she glowed during her session.
M.I.A. - We're still here!
Holy smokes!! It's been a month since we've blogged, you guys! No, we're not on our death bed. We're not even sick! What we are is insanely busy! Like, for real, head spinning busy. If we're not shooting a session, we are editing, scheduling viewing sessions and prepping for 2016. Oh yeah, we also have families, holidays, and birthdays - lots of birthdays in Nov & Dec for both of us!! Phew! But in one breath, we owe a big fat thank you for that busy-ness AND an apology for being M.I.A! 2015 is ending with a big resounding boom for us here!! We promise to catch you up with everything as soon as we come up for air. We are so freaking!!! excited!!!! for 2016.
But for now, here are a couple sneak peaks of some sessions we will be blogging in the next couple weeks.
Is boudoir porn?
NO!
There is absolutely no comparison between boudoir and porn. The intention of porn is to be sexually exhilarating; the audience is paying for pleasure. Boudoir is meant for the eyes of the subjects choosing, for the purpose of enjoying sensual beauty. At Eye Kandie Boudoir, we create tasteful classy images. Some clients request the "illusion" of topless, but we do not create fully nude photos.
The bottom line is, Boudoir is for a select audience. It is a celebration of beauty. It is artistic, elegant and classy.
