No Regrets ::: Orange County Boudoir ::: Miss A
More often than not, clients email us telling us they've been wanting to do a session for such a long time and they've FINALLY decided to gather up the courage and book a shoot! Boy does that make us happy! Every one of our clients have come to us a tad (or a lot!) nervous, and trust me, I GET IT!! I mean, c'mon, it's to be expected. Stripping down in front of someone is hard enough, but to do it when that someone has a CAMERA? In your face?? Yeah, again, it's to be expected that you'll be nervous. But don't let those nerves stop you, let them guide you to excitement and adventure! Just like Miss A did! She'd wanted a shoot. But she waited ... and waited. Finally, she realized that she wasn't going to regret doing the shoot ... she'd regret NOT doing it! So she finally emailed us. Bravo, Miss A for getting out of your comfort zone and letting your nerves guide you, not stop you!

I have been dying to do this for a long time but haven't felt brave enough for it yet. I've recently come to a point in my life where I'm learning to fall in love with myself again and not depend on the approval or love of any man. I've always been tagged as the "good girl" or "so sweet" girl. It's true that I have a good heart and care for others but I'm more than that. I'm a woman who feels sexy and has the same desires and needs as any other woman. At times I feel that I'm not supposed to feel this way or be desirable because it's not appropriate but I'm only denying myself. I feel sexy sometimes and would be honored to have it captured.
That right there is why we do what we do and why we LOVE it!

She wasn't going to let anyone (including herself!) make her feel bad about wanting to feel desirable. Nor should she. She was doing it for HERSELF, to uplift her soul. Boudoir isn't just about sexy photos. It's about proving to yourself that you are more than just a mom, a wife, a housekeeper, a shuttle service , or a {insert whatever label you want here}. It's proving to yourself that you are a confident, amazing, gorgeous, feminine, bad-ass and sexy WOMAN period! The first step is always the hardest. But once you take that first step, you'll quickly realize how the rest of you, just, ... follows. Life is short, go ahead and take that leap!

Oh Hi!
This is me...... the makeup artist. This is what I look like, most eryyyyday. No makeup, Hair up, gym clothes on, because I CLEARLY worked out.....NOT. I did do some sit ups, so that I can say I worked out, that counts right? Oh ya, I got this awesome pile of laundry behind me that is only going to get bigger, because I've literally spent all day doing things that I didn't PLAN on doing! LIVING THE DREAM BABY!!!! Who can relate?
Whether you are a mom of children who are getting older or you are buried under a pile of dirty diapers, this is for you! This is your time girl! Its time for Mom to do something for herself. Come on now, I know that you are driving your kids around all day, that you are at every dance recital, every soccer game, and every parent teacher meeting. You've probably got your own business or you work from home. Maybe you're a single mom just trying to get by. One thing I know that all of you have in common is, you GIVE. You give and you give and when you cant give anymore, you still do.
Its time to embrace womanhood, its time to embrace motherhood, its time to celebrate you! I know that as Moms, that strong self confident woman gets lost. So it's time to reclaim your body, girlfriend! That unhealthy relationship that you have with your body, STOP! You're beautiful, just the way you are. We want to show you that, we want to empower you, its your time to SHINE.

We're all guilty of it...
We rob ourselves of memories. We all do it. We happily snap photos of our kids, loved ones, etc., but we're not IN them. Why? Because we weren't camera ready. Our mascara was smudged, or (gasp!) we didn't have any on at all! Our hair wasn't styled and we weren't dressed to have our photo taken! Does this sound like you? Are you a photo-dodger too?? Well, how about we stop doing it! Just this morning, I let my husband take a photo of me with the kids while we were snuggling in bed before getting ready for school. My hair all bed-head, not a stitch of makeup on. I almost hid under the covers until I noticed my 11 year going under there first. He was about to hide himself. And that hurt my heart. I knew I only had myself to blame, though. How many times has he seen me do that? But 30 years from now, when he sees that photo, he's not looking at me with no makeup on my face, or his brother's bed head, or his own sleep puffy eyes. He's seeing a precious memory. Being IN the photos is something I encourage us all to do! Myself included. Whether or not you think you're picture perfect at that moment in time. I guarantee you 10, 30, 60, 90 years from now, your kids will think you're picture perfect. We're not guaranteed anything in this life, especially TIME. Photos=lifetime memories. Stop robbing yourself of that! And I will too! :)
To put our money where our mouth is, though, I thought I'd post a few photos from our recent head shot session. The pictures below probably represent us more accurately than the one we posted for our "about us" page. Are they picture perfect? Not even a little bit. But they do make me smile!

This stunning lady came to us when she was looking for a gift to give her soon to be husband on the morning of their wedding. We couldn't be more thrilled with how her images turned out! She completely rocked her session. We're so excited she allowed us to share some of her images with you anonymously.

This gorgeous lady came to us when her husband was on deployment. He was coming back mid August and it just so happened to coincide with their anniversary date, also. What a special treat he was coming back to! And a special treat for us, too. We are so thrilled she is allowing us to use some of her images. "When I decided to get my boudoir pictures taken I was so nervous and had no idea what to expect. They both exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could have ever hoped for. They are both amazing at what they do and make you feel completely comfortable. I walked in nervous and left feeling like I had made two new friends. When I finally saw the pictures I was shocked. I didn't know I could look like that and I never would have if it weren't for them! My husband absolutely loves them and I would ABSOLUTELY go back and recommend them to anyone who asks. Eye Kandie Boudoir ::: Looking for a model
We’re looking for a woman to model for us during the day from 9am – 1pm in Costa Mesa on Friday October 2. It is a boudoir/lingerie shoot and hair/makeup styling WILL BE provided.
- All are welcome to apply
- No modelling experience necessary
- You will need to bring at least a basic black bra/underwear.
- Must have a fun, relaxed & positive attitude. This is non-negotiable.
** Must sign a full model release as the images will be used online and in advertising at our discretion. This includes photos revealing your face**
You must be over 18. This model release is irrevocable, so please check with your partner and employer to make sure you will not encounter any personal hardships as a result of modelling lingerie.
In exchange, you will receive 10 fully retouched images (in a custom mobile album).

Orange County Boudoir Session :: Eye Kandie Boudoir
We loooove when a client allows us to use their photos on our blog. Whether it's one or all of them, it lets us show future clients our updated work. And Miss M killed it during her session! She wanted bold and bright colors to match her personality. And we did just that. She was so much fun to shoot!

Over the last couple of years, we have heard every reason why women want and don’t want boudoir photos taken of them. You may have always wanted to do one, but maybe the thought of stripping down to your skivvies is nerve wracking. It can be frightening, yes, but it can also be liberating. We’re all insecure about something. Even the famous supermodels. Trust me when I say that you’re body is beautiful.
But I still find that many women may not want to take my word for it. I can say it ‘til I’m blue in the face, but maybe I’m not saying the right thing … I struggle to find the right words to help women see how valuable they are, and that their “flaws” are not imperfections at all.
So we decided to reach out to a friend. She is a teacher, a pastor, and a counselor. See, this friend writes a blog. A very personal blog. About our bodies and sex, titled “Love and Making It.” She started this blog to show others “a new way to see our bodies and our sex lives. We are ready to enjoy our bodies as good creations they are.” Her writing is passionate and real. She is vulnerable and shares very intimate details. She puts into words my thoughts, like I never can. We wanted to partner up with her, so we offered her a session in exchange for her writing about her experience. We didn’t tell her what to write, we didn’t tell her she would receive anything for a positive write up, we didn’t offer anything like that, because we wanted her to write her genuine true feelings. We also didn’t do anything different for her than we have done for any other client. We wanted her to experience the “Eye-Kandie experience” the same one all of our clients experience.
