What to expect at your first boudoir session in Orange County
So you've been thinking about it. Maybe a friend did it. Maybe you saw photos somewhere and thought, "I could never…" — but here you are, reading this, which means part of you is wondering if maybe you could.
You absolutely can. And we want to walk you through exactly what happens so you can show up to your Grace and Lace session feeling excited, not anxious.
Before your session
Once you book, you'll receive a detailed welcome guide with everything you need to know — what to wear, how to prepare your skin, what to bring (spoiler: not much). You'll also fill out a short questionnaire so we can get to know your story, your vibe, and what you're hoping to feel when you see your photos.
Most clients come in with a mix of nerves and excitement. That's completely normal. In fact, it's basically the dress code.
Hair and makeup
Your session starts with professional hair and makeup right in the studio. This isn't just a perk — it's the warmup. By the time you're in the chair getting glam, you've already relaxed, laughed a little, and started feeling like yourself again. Our artist works with your features, not against them. You'll look like you — just the version of you that exists on your best day ever.
The shoot itself
Our Huntington Beach studio is private, comfortable, and 100% all-female. It's just you and Jeni. No strangers, no awkward audience, no judgment. Jeni will guide every pose — you don't need to know what to do with your hands. She's got you.
Most clients say the shoot feels nothing like what they imagined. It's fun. It's silly at times. There are moments that feel genuinely powerful. You'll probably forget you were nervous at all about 20 minutes in.
Sessions typically run two to three hours, serving women across Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, and all of Orange County.
The reveal
This is the part that surprises people most. After your session, you'll see your images for the first time — and for many women, it's genuinely emotional. Not because the photos are "fixed" or filtered into someone unrecognizable, but because you'll see yourself the way other people already see you. It hits different.
You'll choose your favorite images and select products — albums, wall art, digital files — that you'll genuinely treasure.
Who is boudoir photography for?
Every woman who has ever wanted to feel seen and celebrated. Brides-to-be who want a meaningful wedding gift. Moms who want to reclaim themselves. Women who just turned 30, 40, 50, or 60 and want to mark it. Women who've been through something hard and want to come out the other side feeling strong. Women who just... want to do something for themselves for once.
There is no right body, no right age, no right reason. There's just you — and the photos that prove you were always worth celebrating.
