Q: Where will my boudoir pictures be taken?
A: At our studio in Huntington Beach.
Q: How many people will be present for my Boudoir shoot?
A: Your privacy & comfort are most important to us. The only people present in the room or on set at your shoot are your photographer, Jeni, and possibly Sarah, the make-up artist and assistant.
Q: I'm self-conscious and shy - is this really for me?
A: Of course! It’s for women of all shapes and sizes. It is our job to make sure you feel comfortable and look amazing at your boudoir sessions, and we take our job seriously. Our goal is to capture the personality & spirit of each woman. We've learned over the years, that coming into the session with nerves is a good thing. Getting out of your comfort zone is thrilling and part of the whole life-changing experience. We promise you will leave the session feeling excited and looking stunning.
Q: How old are most of your clients?
A: They range between the ages of 25-55, mostly. You must be 21 or older to have a session with us, though - NO EXCEPTIONS.
Q: Do you retouch the images?
A: Yes. All the images you see will have some editing and slight skin retouching. But we will NOT change your body image with Photoshop. We work the lighting and posing to help with slimming effects, not the computer. It’s still you in our photos - just a glammed-up version of yourself! We also do not take out scars unless you ask us to.
Q: Will you use my images on the Internet?
A: No, unless you give us written permission to do so, we will not use your images for any of our marketing. We understand & respect your need for privacy. All of the women featured on this site or on any of our social media sites have given us written permission to share their images. Also, your full name will NEVER be associated with your photos without your consent.
Q: I don’t really know how to pose… will you help me?
A: Of course! We do not expect you to know how to pose! Jeni will coach you throughout your photo session. Just come with your outfits and we'll take care of the rest. We coach you down to your fingertips, show you breathing techniques for great facial expressions, and use only the most flattering poses. We also play your favorite music during the session to help you relax as well.
Q: Do you shoot nude images? A: Yes, we do. We just don’t post them publicly anymore for privacy reasons.
Q: Can I do my own makeup?
A: We strongly recommend that you do not do your own makeup. This is why our session fee includes hair & makeup. So, even if you decide to do your own hair/makeup, it won’t save money on this front. The talent and expertise that Sarah brings to the experience of a boudoir session are just as important as Jeni's behind the lens. Sarah is very talented and she knows how to bring out your best features. She also knows what works best for the studio & natural lighting.
Q: What should I bring to my boudoir shoot?
A: After you book your session, we will send you a client welcome and prep guide that answers most of the questions you may have about lingerie - including stores we love to shop at! And, of course, we are just a phone call or email away for any of your questions
Q: How long after my Boudoir Shoot do I get to see my images?
A: One week after your shoot, we will meet again for your reveal session. If you need your viewing session sooner, just let us know. We can make that happen.
Q: How long does it take to get the finished product?
A: You can receive your digital images the day you purchase them. It can take 2-3 weeks for albums & products after you approve the design(s).
Q: How do I pay for my session and products?
A: You may pay online via PayPal, Venmo, or with cash, credit card, or check.
Q: How much should I expect to spend for this experience? A: Our non-refundable session fee is $349. This includes the photoshoot, professional hair & makeup, retouching & editing of your photos, and a personal viewing & ordering session for you to order your products a la carte. Weekends are extremely limited and we add $200 for the weekend rate (we really value our precious family time!). Clients tend to spend $1,500 or more on average for the session and products they desire. We offer interest-free payment plans through the studio OR financing through Paypal - which means you can purchase your products and enjoy them right away and take 6 months to pay them off (interest-free!). This makes a Grace and Lace Boudoir experience an affordable one for everybody! And, believe us...it's worth every single penny.
Q: What are your cancellation/rescheduling policies?
A: We are very flexible and realize that life can get chaotic, so if you need to reschedule, please let us know a few days in advance or as early as you can. Your session fee will then be used for a future date. We allow for 1 reschedule, after that your session fee will be forfeited unless they are dire circumstances. We're reasonable people, but please do not take advantage of us. A no-show will forfeit their session fee completely (& gets put on our bad side because that’s just RUDE!)
Q: After my order is placed, will I be able to purchase more from the shoot in the future? A: No, we only have one viewing and ordering session. With storage constraints, we only keep the images you purchase.
